Discover Learn and Dream

About Us
Wonder Intercultural School Lombok was created to offer a truly different approach to education; placing children at the centre, working together and adapting to achieve their success. We envisioned a place where students are valued and encouraged, where their unique qualities are embraced, and where they come together under a shared commitment to fairness, honesty, community, sustainability, and academic growth. Here, success takes many forms, and achievements are as diverse as the vibrant community we represent.

Grades

Early Years Programme (EYP)
The Early Years program includes Playgroup and Transitional Kindergarten. It uses a thematic learning approach to support students’ social, emotional, and intellectual growth in a safe, welcoming, and beautiful environment inspired by Reggio Emilia. Our curriculum uses a dynamic, hands-on and innovative approach, where creativity and inquiries lead our young students to explore their world through focused and free learning experiences.

Primary
The Primary Classes, Years 1 to 6, use a thematic, inquiry-based approach to learning with a project-based assessment at the end of every term. Our Primary Programme is transitioning to the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The International Primary Curriculum is more than just a framework for teaching—it’s a holistic approach to developing well-rounded, globally aware learners. By focusing on creativity, international-mindedness, and real-world learning, the IPC offers a unique, engaging, and valuable educational experience for your child. We are also implementing Indonesia’s National Curriculum Merdeka for native Bahasa Indonesia and BIPA for international students, providing three Bahasa Indonesia lessons per week. We are able to issue grade completion certificates, transcripts, and the Indonesian IJAZAH (internationally recognised grade completion certificate)

Sade Sasak Village, Lombok: Wonder Intercultural School Celebrates National Education Day
On May 2, 2025, Wonder Intercultural School marked Indonesia’s National Education Day with an immersive field trip to the Sasak Traditional Village of Sade in Lombok. Led by Principal Ms. Dora Parr, Primary and Early Years, joined their teachers, traded their classrooms for the vibrant, living heritage of a traditional Sasak community.
A Classroom Without Walls
Wonder School has a thematic curriculum. This term’s Inquiry is ‘Exploring Traditions and Cultures – How do Cultures Make Us?’ Wonder School’s experiential learning methodology is child-led, inquiry-driven, and project-based, exploring topics from different angles.
Engaging with locals, the students practised basic Sasak phrases and respectful gestures; they were invited into the homes and shared their fruit in traditional ways.
Hands-On Heritage
The students’ introduction to traditional Sasak weaving was one of the highlights. Weaving in Sade is exclusively a woman’s job, but after we asked politely, the locals allowed anyone who wanted to have a try. At Wonder School, we learn to be flexible, observant and respectful of people who invite us into their space and show us new things.
Lessons in Inquiry and Understanding
We were lucky enough to be guided around Sade by a very knowledgeable guide, who is from Sade himself and a proud Sasak. We learned that only the youngest son inherits property in Sade, and our guide wasn’t the youngest, so he lived outside. He taught us about marriage traditions, why there were no windows in the kitchens and girls’ sleeping areas, while the Wonder School teachers took the role of translators and our form of ‘guiding’ by stimulating inquiry and connection with open-ended questioning.
Learning That Shapes the Whole Child
“The point of field trips for us, wherever we go, is to have our experience be as authentic as possible, leave the speaking to others, and be grateful guests. We try to cement and connect what we have already learned by listening to other voices and perspectives,” said Dora (The Principal). This National Education Day, Wonder Intercultural School lived its mission to pursue projects which increase cross-cultural understanding in a genuine, authentic way.

The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is a comprehensive and creative educational framework designed for children aged 5 to 11. It focuses on a thematic, inquiry-based approach that encourages students to explore subjects in an interconnected way, making learning more engaging and meaningful.

Wonder Intercultural School students wrapped up the term with laughter, learning, and creativity—flipping pancakes, exploring nature, and crafting traditional Ogoh-Ogoh during project time

Our new campus will be ready soon! With electricity installed, AC and plumbing systems in place, and an amazing skate bowl, we’re gearing up for an incredible learning space.
